Learning Outcomes in this Module
If you feel like you are working harder than your students, your feedback might be "too good." In this module, we shift the focus from correcting work to creating cognitive engagement. We will introduce Dylan Wiliam’s "Golden Rule" of feedback and provide practical strategies to turn your comments into puzzles that students must solve.
By the end of this module, you will be able to:
Make feedback "detective work": Evaluate practical strategies that move beyond giving complete solutions, and reflect on how to adapt marking to prompt students to locate and fix their own mistakes.
Build a sustainable feedback routine: Evaluate current marking practices and reflect on how to apply alternative marking methods to maximise student learning while keeping the overall teacher workload manageable.
